connect one network cable to the modem, connect a crossover cable from the other network port to the other computer.
Right click the network card connected to the modem & in the last tab something like advanced or some crap tick "allow other users to access the internet through this connection". It'll automagically turn on dhcp on the internal port & set its ip to 192.168.0.1. guide here: http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp_ics/ last edited by whoop at 19:57:50 23/May/07 |

i blame windows because i didnt actually have the option for ICS on both networks so couldnt share it properly, but when i unplugged the rj45's to get it so i could share it properly it was magically on both. maybe i should upgrade to vista lol |

connect a crossover cable You don't need crossover cables with network cards made in the last few years. They do auto-crossover for you, so you can use any cable. |

how can i tell if a network card can drop cross over cable goodness? it's part of the gigabit standard, so if the card does gigabit it should be able to do auto negotiation of crossover |
