Anyone seen one of these in action? Looks pretty neat, screen size is prolly a little small for what I want but aside from that looks pretty nice?

i saw one of these at indro this morning

while they're only thin.. they're pretty long and wide. I think it would be a weird shape to have in your pocket

Have a couple of them at work and really don't like the phone very much.

They're a bit smaller than what the adverts make them out to be - the screen does tend to feel very cluttered. It also appears unable to play videos in fullscreen either - Foxtel is played in a smallish box (takes up about half of the screen at best), same with any videos recorded using the phone's camera. That said, I'm not sure how media copied onto the device will look. No video calling capabilities either if that's your thing. Build quality's not too bad, although the battery cover on the back has 2 'prongs' at the top which could easily get caught and snap off.. There's also no WiFi support in the i601 either if that's something you were chasing/liked about it.

In short, not a fan (If you couldn't tell).

Also, might be worth having a quick read of - iMobile.com.au's review of the Blackjack..

It's Push Email via Microsoft Activesync from memory? Think I'd much rather have a Blackberry if I had any sort of option - the Blackberry Pearl or the newly released Blackberry 8800 would be my choice (If I didn't already have an I-Mate JasJam).

Muh, I prefer Exchange push mail and pocket outlook to blackberry's, integration seems a lot better. Plus it fully syncs your calendar and contacts as well, not sure if the blackberry does thta properly yet.

sigs are so 2003
are you serious? I'm trying to find a PDA/phone without a camera because I want less space taken up with stupid useless toy s*** and more focus on actual useful s***. They're throwing a camera in everything these days and its a pain the ballsac

i use my camera more than my phone in my n70. great to be able to email high qual pics on the fly for new deals.

but if the e61 is already offering a 2mp camera, Samsung should have just left it out, instead of insulting their customers with 1.3mp.

AMEN Trog.

I've been looking for a new phone, I only need a basic one, and they all have those stupid cameras.

I'd prefer a more useful feature or a cheaper price than a wanna be camera.

Those form part of the extended battery case. If you put the standard-sized battery in the back of the unit is flush.

Yeah it seems that cameras are now pretty much standard on any new phone built.

I would much rather pay for a solid phone that handles calls and text messages very well.

^ Yeah thats similar to what i got, i have a Nokia 2100. I've had it for about 4 years now i think, the only probs i have are that it only holds 30 txt messages so i have to delete them all every day or two, and some of the buttons are starting to become less responsive.
