Nothing. 12mth/2yr anniversaries are overrated... Guess that doesn't help if you're dating a girly girl who's into all that sort of crap though, does it?

If you have the $ you could take here on a 2 hour cruise in a gondola down the brisbane river w/ dinner etc. Its very romantic and top notch but you really pay for it.
Golden Gondolas is the name, took my missues there for our anniversary.

Romance is truly dead when you need to ask QGL for advice on what to do for anniversary..

But take her to a B&B in Maleny - guaranteed to get you some butt sex (either way if your into that stuff).

Why don't you let her know that she has to plan something for the aniversary instead of you.

Depends what you are into, but the Gold Coast Marriott does a good romance package for like $250. Includes chocolates and champagne on arrival and the full buffet dinner at their restaurant. (Ive had it before, its just increadible - cheese bar, seafood, salads, different roasts and baked dishes etc etc.)

Anyway its something!

Im not sure if they run it all year round though.

Honestly, I can tell you that the most successful getaways I ever had with my gf, were ones planned together, it gets them so wet.

I'd take her away for the weekend, wine, dine and 69 all weekend.

Then propose shortly afterwards, cause girl I could keep for 2 years has gotta be worth the long haul.

Depends how old you are I guess, as you get older 2 years means more than it did in high school.

i wasn't really talking about high school either, but it's deffinately not worth making a thread about

when you hit 5 years or something, then try and be original

I agree!
To be honest i wouldnt even know when an anniversary was(unless i was married). I dont see the big fuss over anniversarys, particularly when they're not marriage/death/birth.

I reckon 2 years is kinda original :P

It's obviously a personal thing, I reckon by 2 years in a mature, adult relationship is long enough to either make or break. You know, living together, etc etc..

But yeah I didn't mean to say that everyone should live by my ideals. I know lots of people who have waited 5-6 years, and others who have been so blown away that they got engaged after 14 months.

Me personally, I'd say if I couldn't make that choice after 2 years, I'd questioning why I'm still in the relationship, if my partner had the desire to get married.

OK, immediately forget anything Gimpy said about romance and relationships.

Done? OK, well don't ask WHY I know this, but second anniversary is supposed to be the cotton anniversary. There's a complete list here. I guess since/if she's a woman she'll know this too, so I suggest getting her something really nice that's cotton. Just a thought.

TBH I'd say avoid the main area of the Gold Coast. It's so cheap, commercialised and overdone. I remember years ago my dad and I took a road trip up to the mountains around Brisbane so he could find somewhere good to take mum for their anniversary. There area heaps of great places up there. I think they ended up going here. It was a nice joint and the prices are quite reasonable. It's something a bit different, and there's plenty of cool cultural/natury/artsy fartsy things to do up there. They had a great time and the people in the area were really nice. Just a little heads up though, my parents are divorced now...

Edit: Logic ++

Heh reload, we stayed there when we had some surfing lessons earlier in the year down at Byron. I found it weird that you were in this rainforest style retreat, but there was fck all to do at it! No walking trails or anything, like it was expected that you go elsewhere for entertainment but nothing was really in walking distance, or you are just going to lounge on the deck all day.

That said the restaurant was fkn awesome. Really good staff and the food was top notch from all local produce :)
