Hey all.. just wondering what video card to put in my HTPC.. I originally got a cheap x1300 with HDMI output but found out that it is unable to handle real time de-interlacing of hi def (1080i -> 1080p) signals. Current 2 cards im looking at are the Sapphire Radeon X1950Pro or the Asus EN7900GS-2DHT. The 7900GS is $50 cheaper, but i want to make sure its going to handle the de-interlacing.

My x1300 seemed to handle hi def stuff, what's your other system specs? This was an AGP x1300, though admittedly it wasn't to an HDMI monitor so that might have something to do with it.

system specs:
ASUS A8N-E Socket 939 nForce 4 Motherboard a64 3500+ Processor 939 1 gig PC3200 DDR ATI x1300 HDMI 128mg gfx 450watt antec PSU DVICO Fusion Dual Digital TV Tuner i think it would play back hi def stuff fine (1080p content).. its the real time deinterlacing that causes it to struggle.. that and the graphics card i got only had a 64bit memory pipe which i think was the limiting factor.. |
