The countdown for the first gta4 trailer has begun, and hopefully it will show the first glimpses of actual gameplay footage from this hotly anticipated game.

Yeah, because all subsequent GTA games since #1 have just been 100% rehashes and havent added any new storylines more detailed than most movies, nor have they improved the gameplay or added any new features. Complete and utter milking.

I disagree, I believe with each subsequent release they have added things which made the games progressively better.

gta3 they added a 3d world

vice city they added a talking main character with heaps of personality and interaction with the game world.

San andreas they added a f*** tonne of new areas to explore, swimming, s***loads more usable vehicles, multiplayer and a smoother looking graphics engine.

I reckon they will take some big steps with gta4, and it will be the best game ever. Plus the fact that this isn't going to be some graphically castrated game due to the ps2 exclusivity of the previous titles.

What was wrong with San Andreas?

i just didn't like it. it was a bit too weird and a bit too big. It was less serious. I'd rather deal with Avery Carrington or the like rather than OG Loc or whatever the crap he was.

Fair enough. I enjoyed the extra 'bigness' in San Andreas personally. And the missions were okay to me.

My only criticism of it was that perhaps it was a bit too easy. The most tries it ever took me to do a single mission was probably 3, so I pretty much plowed straight through the game.

Had a blast though :)

yeah, i was a bit of the opposite. I got a little tired of the damn flying school/driving school/random school crap. I didn't like flying missions. The bigness lost me too much.

I don't like how far the cities are away from each other. It felt like i spent too much time doing nothing, and not enough time actually playing the game.

i have no evidence to back this up other then gta past history, but if the next gta is goign to follow the original gta location settings it should be set in london i f***ing hope so cause the expansion pack gta london was the f***ing funniest s*** i ever played, had the best radio stations the best end intros and it was just down right hilarious.

take a motor and go down and see the crisp twins to get a bit of wizz.

GTA London was king until GTAIII.

They should make it something like a superhero type thingy. Start of as a noob and work your way up to superhero getting various powers along the way. Have a piece of s*** car to start off with then earn something cool like the Bat-mobile. Have your character choose what type of powers he wants when completing zones/levels/missions.

October for consoles = not till next year for PC :(

I used to care about things not coming out for pc til after consoles because there was a gap in graphics between pc and consoles. That gap has effectively been closed and if anything, the graphics on the console ports atm are actually better than pc.
