I'm looking to get myself an XBox 360 (seeing as I don't have access to my brother's anymore), and I thought I might just check to see if anyone knew something I didn't (ie, a cheaper place to get them).

Cheapest I've found is JB that has the premium packs for about $590. I'm thinking thats probably the best bet, but it doesn't hurt to double check. Guitar Hero 2 comes out on it in a couple of weeks so I gotta have one before then :P

Yeah, I saw that, but I'm not in Brisbane anymore, so when you add postage onto that I'd rather just pay the difference and get a new one with a full 12 month warranty.

mine's been fine but with the number of people who have had problems with theirs you would definitely want the warranty.
although maybe newer models have been fixed anyway.

Maybe they'll put them in a museum, they seem to have museums for everything else down here...

But yeah, I've been looking around ebay, but I dunno, I just feel a bit insecure sending that much cash to some stranger on the internet while I cross my fingers and hope he lives up to his end of the deal. Its still tempting though, cos for the same price as a premium pack in stores, you can get one on ebay usually with a few games, extra controller, etc.
