Mundine is a good boxer, but he aint the World Champ - there are 3 blokes in the weight division that are better than him, 2 of them beat him easy and the other probably wouldn't waste his time fighting him.

Who are these guys?

Mikkel Kessler (the bloke who gave Mundine a complete boxing lesson) is the WBA World Champion, however the WBA in all their wisdom now elevate long term champions to "Super Champions". This is done purely because they can earn more money. So the WBA currently has 2 champions in the same weight class, solely to make money. How do they do this? Well they make more money in sanctioning fees every time a 'world title' is up for grabs.

Mikkel Kessler kicked Mundines ass, and is the same weight division but is classified as 'super champion' or 'unified champion'.

Then you have Joe Calzaghue who has a 42-0 record but because he chose to fight unsanctioned bouts against contenders that HBO didn't want to televise, he was stripped of his IBF and WBA titles. Finally, there is Sven Ottke who also has a perfect record, including knocking Mundine's ass out. How do Sven Ottke and Joe Calzaghe have perfect records in the same division you may ask? Because the WBA kept them apart so there wouold be more sanctioning fees!

So, if you count Sven Ottke (who is reportedly retired) there are three blokes in Mundines weight division that are bettter than him. Two of them have proven it, and Joe Calzaghe will hopefully fight Kessler soon to settle all this bulls***.

Kessler was supposed to fight Joe, but he had to beat Mundine again first as he was the WBA mandatory challenger. To get around this they made him unified champion, so he could fight Joe!

Most boxing fans view Joe as the true World Champion in super middleweight, so it will be an interesting fight.
