Nic let us know about a presentation being done at QUT Gardens Point Campus this Thursday looking at the various ways the law applies to video games. Videogames and virtual environments now rival film, television and other established media for industry size, consumer numbers and cultural influence. The rise of new technologies always challenges the law, and videogames and virtual environments have raised some interesting issues. The presenters will discuss issues of classification; cheating; freedom of speech and associated liberties; and competition law. The format will be quite informal, with attendees encouraged to participate in the discussions.Topics that will be discussed include classification, cheating, liberties and competition law. Check out the announcement for more details and attendance information! |

Sounds interesting. Too bad it's on during the day and not in the evening.

Of course it's during the day!
It's not like people that play games have Jobs, Study or lives to attend to... |
