Im looking at getting a job or something with in the next 5 or so days that will earn me ~$150/week, because currently im falling short of $150 a week to cover bills etc. i have my own transport, and a casual job. with about 20 hours a week.

any ideas?

Don't just hand in applications for the pizza jobs.

Hassle the manager non-stop for an immediate start and you will get one... otherwise your application is probably already lost.

actually if you have a second source of income, your % of tax you pay doesn't go up. you lose more tax because you cannont claim the tax free threshold. which is the first 100 dollars of your pay.

so you lose more in tax but not because the tax has gone up

Uhh, no. You don’t get to claim the tax free threshold on your second job and when it’s time to do your tax your overall tax debt is all of the work you’ve completed.

I.E. If you earn 20,000 dollars from fisting cats and 18,000 from feltching obes, then you’re combined incomes equate to $38,000 over the course of the year.

Now, weekly you get paid (assuming it’s all steady constant work – it makes the maths easier) (before tax) $384.61 for fisting cats and $346.15 from feltching Obes. After tax you’d get $337.61 and $261.15 respectively – fletching obes now incurs extra tax because your tax free threshold is on fisting cats. .

So, you’re paying $132 per week in tax. However, here’s the kicker, based off of an income of $38,000 dollars a year you’re supposed to be paying $144 dollars a week in tax. So, you’re heading for a tax debt of around $624 – more than a weeks pay.

find a labour job within seconds, they are awesome cause most of the bosses are flexible as hell and let you work the days etc you want :D I was unpacking containers from the docks for a while was like 30+ an hr depending on how fast you worked.

Thats a good call there sc00bs, I use to work casually for them last year when I wanted a bit of extra cash. They would contact you every afternoon and see if you were available the next day. I found that the more often you said yes, the better chance you had of getting work from them.
