also, i think its dumb that they have been greyscaled... there is nothing classy about the fkn festival.. the pics should highlight the summer colours and vibe. cant wait for them to be uploaded later though.

and just out of interest...what exactly is a media pass? dont you have to work for some magazine/paper to be granted the privelige? does it give you access to normally out of bounds areas?

good luck, they dont give out passes to freelance photographers or media reps (who arent under consignment) unless there has been a policy change i'm unaware of.

Yeah i don't know how well she will go getting a media pass, its really something she just wants to do. And yeah we did sit at the main stages more or less all day, Little Birdy was one of the only acts not on the main stages i really really wanted to see so i made my way to the green stage and watched them, i would of stuck around for The Sleepy Jackson, but it was too f***ing hot and all the f***wits annoyed the s*** out of me, so i went back to sitting on the hill right behind the big poll. Amy got up when Eskimo Joe where on and got some closer snaps but she didn't venture too far in as she was worried about her equipment, and then considering when she did go in the crowd she could barely see anything as it was, so really on the hill was the best place to take pictures.

The only flag i saw at BDO was held up by the butterfly effect.

i saw loads

there was even a group of people wearing flags (guys had aussie flag shorts and the girls had aussie flag tops)

i was so inspired i punched out a leb nearby

to get photo pass for bdo..you'd have to have referals..

freelance for something like that wont happen..I've tried with chugg entertainment and only way to get one off them is for you to be part of a touring company/promoter..

Did anyone see any news about a guy getting run over while cars were leaving yesterday?

My friend said she saw a Ute do a burnout and ran completely over a guy. A group of the guys friends rushed to the ute and were looking to beat the f*** out of the driver who was probably drunk...A heap of cops turned up pretty quickly..

So she saw that but hasn't heard anything else about it..

Unless you work for a media outlet that will give them some decent publicity or sponsorship, you can pretty much rule out getting a media pass. I've tried through student publications, freelancing and through contacts who are connected to those who matter, but hit a dead end every time.

firstly, amy doesn't think she's pro - she writes for an e-zine (which admittedly is down at the moment) and would like to get them some great pics. as for the press pass, yeah she probably won't get one cos she doesn't work for a big paper or whatever. still gonna try - may as well.

it would only really be to get some close shots of the band members, basically. as it was, we got close enough to little birdy to get those anyway.

Personally, I think some of the close up pics of the bands on stage are as good as you'll see anywhere. Nice work.
