The first beta of Goldeneye Source which just missed it's target date of Christmas day has now hit the net.

There's a list of mirrors here, no ausgamers mirror listed there yet but I'm sure there will be one soon enough.

Any local servers around for this?

Hell yes, I was hoping we'd see more of this. Now the trick is getting enough people playing it.

I've wondered the same thing about Mario Kart Source and Metroid Source.

I thought this game came out ages ago. it was ok, But s*** has moved on since the magic of the n64 version.

You'd be thinking of the Alpha. According to the guys who are working on it, there's be a s*** load of improvements since then. I still have yet to try it out myself but I've heard reports of the game crashing on ppl after 20-30mins, but then it is still in it's beta phase so I guess it's to be expected.
