I recently got a wii, and have a wired home network, where i have ethernet plugs in most of the bedrooms connecting to a router with the internet. Seeing as the Wii is not in the bedrooms, is there a small thing i can buy that i can plug into the network that just sends a relatively small wireless internet range for wii.

is this possible? or do i have to buy a new wireless router, which would be at the other end of my house, and possibly too far from the wii.

I was curious about the same information. An access point allows you to make a wired network wireless costs a little cheper than a router not sure if the wii is compatible though? and you can also buy a nintendo wifi usb stick thingy which plugs into your pc and sends out a wireless signal. I think they go for about 60 on ebay??

your link shows something at the cost of around $180. Much cheaper to get a wifi usb stick like these: EBAY wifi

Nintendo have a WiFi dongle which you can attach to another PC and use as a gateway - it costs about $30, but I'm not sure where you can actually buy it. You can also buy an ethernet adaptor for I think $30 also.

Alternatively DLink have the DI-514 wireless router which I think is somewhere in the range of $60 and $100.

If you already have a wired network and a router, and you dont want to use a PC as a gateway (cos if you did that your PC would have to be on all the time when you wanted to use your Wii, which may or may not be a problem), then you can just get a Wireless Access Point and plug it into a spare port on your router/switch.

I'm not sure if the Wii uses 802.1b or 802.1g, but most access points these days should do both.
