I have been trying all morning, so far I've rung over 30 stores.

I live in Redcliffe and ideally wouldn't want to go more then 60 minutes drive.

Chermside EB (where people say there might possibly be some) aren't answering the phone at all and I'm not going to try my luck on a pop in.

Please help, I'm going insane.

Death can mean good or bad... get with the program mav :)

Yeah I might have to mission it, my Sigma costed me a $100, no joke... it's a death trap and I like to avoid the highways.

Now the lame thing is I have to choose a specific store to order with... and then I'm locked in (deposit)

The thing is the stores don't have any idea when they're coming in, I bet I'm going to order at a store, then all the others get stock, then mine comes in after Xmas.

Oh well :(

EB's are chermside won't pick up the carnt's... I've let it ring out over 50 times now.

How the hell can they do that, ridiculous.

Tried all Myers, Big W's, Targets, K-marts, JB's and WOW's.

EDIT: picked up then, both stores out and wont have them till after Xmas.

I think Myer Indro said they were getting some in tomorrow or the next day... I will just mission it over there.

I've tried looking for one during the week at all the above mentioned stores (including both EB's), they are all sold out and won't be getting stock until mid January.

Arg!

I wonder if anyone anticipated the shortfall of consols enough to buy a whole stack of em and sell them at inflated prices untill the shops stock up again. Sort of like ticket scalping :(

Just have a look on Ebay... they're not making much, about $50 per console... but still someone thought of it.

Momentary setback... put off the Wii for a month while they restock, spent the money and bought the massive 2 player "Ultimate" stick from that Ozsticks that I've always been wanting for MAME.

So yeah... ultimate suckiness though, I woke up this morning thinking I would be playing Zelda right now :( Such a downer.

TBH I don't think I'd sell mine for $500... it's too much fun and I can't be arsed waiting a few weeks to go get another one. I think if you do find one anywhere they'd be fools not to see them for the full RRP. I asked at Myer when I bought mine if they'd price match JB - the guy laughed and said, "We do, but we know everywhere has sold out so we're not going to."

Big bloody screwup imo of Nintendo to release a product in such demand they can't meet.

EB & Target at North Lakes had stock.

Also,

Yeah I might have to mission it, my Sigma costed me a $100, no joke... it's a death trap and I like to avoid the highways.

lol, I love sigmas... it's all I would want to drive (I used to race them at archiefield).

The sigma I learnt to drive in had no first gear and no handbrake... hill starts FTW!

My first car was a stigma, ran that hunk of metal into the ground. Toughest 2-tonne piece of metal around is a Siggy.

I'm known for my sigmas... every single person in my family has one (mum, dad and 3 brothers)... so we have 8 registered at the moment (2 spares), had up to 10 at one point because they stuff up at a moments notice.

We have about 10 - 15 in our yard, unoperation at any point in time for parts, we all became masters at repairing sigmas and have never used a mechanic in our life.

+ yeah, knock out the windows, bolt up the doors, put in 5 point harness and a roll cage and you can race them at archifield.

They bropke the release record for a console in Australia, so they obviously had enough to cover the best likely outcome.

Its just wii want even more :D

It's pretty amazing given the relatively poor array of launch titles, most people seem to be buying it on the strength of the novelty of Wii Sports alone.

WRT FTW (Weekes Racing Team) :)

did u manage to find any??

the best i could do was to put my name down on a few of the lists at the myers around. apparently they are getting a shipment coming in between the 18th and the 27th. and then they will ring the ppl down the list in order seeing whoever wants one.

hopefully be in before christmas

Bought one just then from Toys R Us Garden City. Their phone is constantly engaged, this could be why they have some left, no one can ring them.

Got wii play + remote at Jb hifi macreggor.

Zelda from Target mt gravatt, even got them to price match jb.

EB at Chermside don't answer the phone because it seems that everybody in QLD is/has been shopping at Chermside. Even today, the shops were packed. But if you've run 50 times then that's, probably a worst case senario.

no, i went to the hypermarket before i ventured to the garden city one. they had some but only for pre-orders. i batted my eye-lashes and the girl re-considered and went to beg her manager, however even my charm couldnt win over a wii.

this shortage is not just happening in AU. It's even worse in America where a month after launch, 30 people are lining up at 8.30pm the previous night for the store opening at 8am with shipments.

Tis crazy.
