Codemasters have announced that their MMORPG Archlord will soon be making the transition to a free-to-play game:

Codemasters Online Gaming is pleased to announce that ArchLord will be going Free To Play on January 4 2007.

ArchLord will continue to be fully supported, including the second fantastic update Episode II: Season of Siege. However, players will now be able to access all this great content simply by buying the box; after that it's free!

Over the next few days all those playing ArchLord will be receiving emails updating them of the changes and how they will be affected. Visit the website at www.archlordgame.com/freetoplay to find out more information on how the changes affect you.

Screenies looked good.
Then I realised it's basically exactly like Guild Wars.
Which while I liked Gild Wars for it's PvP, I dont think I could go through a clone of it, from vids I saw from youtube, even GWars PvE looked better still.

I thought the screenshots looked pretty good too, until I played it in the beta at high detail it looked nothing like I've seen on their website / movies I wonder what I was doing wrong :P Either way this game is a steaming pile of crap, I would avoid it at all costs.

I don't understand why companies go make the same fantasy-style MMO's - spice it up a f***ing bit and change something about your game to make it different from EQ or WoW.

Pisses me off that developers can't think outside of the square and insist on making clones of every other game.
