Topic: how do i disable onboard video...dun laff :(

i have a hp pavilion (lame..yes i know) and i just got me a geforce vid card, well anyways each time i remove my onboard video it just reinstalls again when i reboot!!(very annoying). is there anyway i can disable plug n play device thingy or sumpin that stops it reinstalling like the chipset itself??

can any1 help me???...please im despreate!!!

Go into the Bios and disable it there.

What motherboard, usually there is a Jumper on board to disable it.

I don't have anything much to add other than to point out that this is a prime example of why you SHOULDN'T buy motherboards with anything on-board.

hunter - a year ago i was despreate and very very very stupid and i ran into harvey norman and bought a pc that would play cs...i regret doing that everyday :(

I used to have a pavilion like that only I had that trouble with the onboard sound... how did I fix it? bought my own comp...

but as if u would bother witha pavilion, seriously...

i just finished skool and have no income.

its my parents cpu i just get to get me ram,sound,video which i will put into a pc i make when i get a job :)

Oh these machines will work ok by themselves but upgrading is another matter. Everyone makes the mistake of buying a store machine at least once in their lifetime though. That said I was only pointing out that if you buy individual components.
