SO

Cable modem went boom, and I don't have time to f*** around waiting for a telstra technician.

I have been using the standard Motorola modem (which has been good) coupled with a WGR614V6. I've been less and less impressed with the Netgear router so I am leaning towards one unit.

Just chasing some opinions on the SBG900, I would appreciate any input/opinions

(Also where should I buy it?)

I've got one of those SB5100 (black Motorola) you can have as I don't have BP Cable anymore.

PM me if you want it.

One of the worst products netgear ever made however what do you expect for a s***ty cheap router?

Don't go near netgear, the SBG900 ok but it's wireless sucks.

my netgear network cards work flawlessly with each other and with my linksys/dlink routers. What do you expect though spook, you use IE and believe 4 doors are better than 2.

Only thing to watch out for with the SBG900 is no UPnP, so you'll have to manually configure port forwarding for P2P apps.

Just get the normal sb5100 replacement and buy yourself a decent router and do some research.

I was about to post saying "as if so many people would have a spare cable modem lying around".

Guess what, seems I do too :)

not sure but I think I still even have that big old brick of a modem that BPA first used. Not that it's of any use to anyone anymore.
