Jack Palance, the legendary character actor who received Oscar nominations for his villainous roles in Sudden Fear and Shane, and won an Oscar for his comedy role in City Slickers, died Friday of natural causes in California; he was 87.

I can't think of any actors that have received oscars for roles in a comedy. Anyone else?

Used to love watching Ripleys back in the 80's with him hosting. He will be greatly missed...by those that will miss him.

The guy that played the saxaphone (or whatever the instrument was) that made the legendary Jaws music died a few weeks back.

He too will be missed by those that will miss him.

I'm more shocked that he was still alive until.. well today.
