ACTOR and wife of TV presenter Rove McManus, Belinda Emmett has died in Sydney, Skynews has reported.

The 32 year-old actress, who starred in All Saints and Home and Away, had fought an eight-year battle with breast cancer which had spread to her vertebrae.

In January 2005, she married her longtime boyfriend, television presenter Rove McManus.

Whatever. All u ever hear about is breast cancer. As far back as I can remember I've been spammed through media about breast cancer awareness. Which is good. But...

...the fact remains more men die of prostate cancer than women die of breast cancer, and u don't hear anything about that.

Women's health issues always take a massive priority over men's. The most recent example being the headline "the price of womens lives" regarding the new cervical cancer immunisation program, and the kickup from women about not getting a free handout.

women care more about their health though, so that is no surprise.

amen to that, she didn't even die of breast cancer and its all over the media. She died of bone cancer, a disease more commonly fatal than breast cancer.

She didn't even have f***ing cancer, she had hodgkins lymphoma and was never in any f***ing danger of dying. More people die of the bloody flu. Sucks that she died, not because she was 'Belinda Emitt' or a "celebrity" (ha ha ha).
But it is aweful because she got dealt a s*** hand of cards and died at such a young age where murderers and rapists live reasonably healthily. Just as all the other poor unfortunate people and children who suffer and die very prematurely, it sucks indeed.

Yeah I remember all her singing stuff before she went on home and away. Even on the show, wasnt she like a singer or piano teacher or something?

Couldnt have said it better, I think thats why people are caring about this so much. Because of the somewhat personalised nature of Roves show, people feel like they know him and feel badly for him.

She has not looked well in a long time, and everyone who knows them has been talking about how much they loved one another. Its a tragic end to a nice love story and thats what hooks people.
