WASHINGTON - Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld, architect of an unpopular war in Iraq, is resigning after six stormy years at the Pentagon, President Bush said Wednesday.

Bush said Robert Gates, former head of the CIA under the first President Bush, would be tapped to replace Rumsfeld.

Now all we need is Cheney and his monkey-puppet(Bush) to step down.

Will be good to see what approach this Robert Gates guy takes in dealing with the conflict. Hopefully with Bush now a "lame duck" president for the next 2 years, and a new Defence Secretary we might actually get out of Iraq soon and let them start moving on without thousands of foreign troops in their country.

exactly, i couldn't really care less about iraq but seriously if anyone has watched that documentry about the middle east and how for thousands of years they have done nothing but fight. it's all they know how to do
