I used to play this game at TAFE years ago, it was probably the second version ever made and the best in my opinion. I have found some on google which are too basic, no weapon selections, no decent land mass.

Does anybody know where I might be able to find this old DOS based game? I've tried on google for 2 days now with no luck.

(It's for playing at work during my lunch break with mates)

or do you mean like old school worms, cause that game was even more rockin. it was called scorched earth from memory?

I miss my Death Track, my disks got CRC's on them :(

Would it actually run on a new machine?

There is also nothing really like it out. Carmageddon got close but you didn't have missiles, cultrops, wheel spikes etc. There was a game that was similar but can't think of the name right now. Was for the pentium 200Mhzish

I use to play an awsem game on the Apple IIe called rescue raiders. It was a way kewl chopper game where ya had to buy an army and force the other team back to take over thier base. They remade it for the pc and called it "Armor Ally". f***ing awsem fun !!!

f*** YEH! I still bust out my apple emulator to play that game.

Years ago crack.com were working on a game called Golgotha which was going to be like an uber 3d version. Unfortunately it never got close to finished, though they released the source code for what they'd done - just had a quick google and it looks like noones done anything with it :(

edit: good wikipedia item with comments by Dave Taylor.

Not thinking of Quarentine are you? Though that was around well before 200Mhzish PC's but it had a Carmageddon element to it and had missles.

Original Scorched Earth and Stunts ftw, i wish games like that were available for download with new consoles like Nintendo are going to be doing all the old nes roms etc.

Nah wasn't pod. you couldn't fire in that game. You could only slide around every corner like mega race.
