ok, i switched from optus@home to adsl telstra, and apart from being worse than going back to dial up!!!!

they count wireplay, they HAVE too - we play 90% of the time on wireplay servers or ausgamers...

we downloaded a stack of upgrades on wireplay, still billable = total!

WTF? i'm ringing the ACCC asap cause I dont understand how this f***ing thing works!!!

Have a look at www.whirlpool.net.au and there are a few people with similar issues. Nobody ever thougt Telsta's usage eter would be relible did they ??

After being on this forum and seeing every second thread "Telstra = gh3y" why would you then go and buy it?

trotsky, ive been gaming alot on wireplay lately and it doesnt seem to be counting on the usage page.

ive heard that however, downloads from the wireplay ftp are counting, but http isnt.
I dont know how much truth is in this rumour but i wouldnt put it past the f***ups.

we havent leeched anything illegal this month, just using cable normally, webpages, irc and gaming and we're allready up to 2750MB with 7 days still left in the f***ing month.
It's just stupid :(

fairly obvious that he either moved house or optus stopped providing too him

I bet anyone 90% of BPA/adsl did not get optus for the simple reason that they couldnt

other 10% got bpa because they got cable b 4 O@H was released or they had nfi about cable and did no research

i moved out of my house near uni (a share house) because i am going overseas soon, and dont want to pay rent when im not there.

also, my brother did a test of sorts. he checked his usage, was at 2.2gig - downloaded the 1st 2 things for about 10 days, next day after it has been updated (its been updated every day for me) i am on 2.92gig BILLABLE, and my Unrated moved 20meg

even tho it was 100megs all up it only moved 20

good work telstra fags.

Ah it makes sense now. This is the reason I jumped ship on telstra I thought they'd pull some sort of s***. And they broke their promise on the being able to have the account cut off after 3 gig.

Just to clarify a few things for you.

The entire Wireplay website and game server farm do NOT count towards your limit. This includes our files section also.

If you play games or download things from Ausgamers, or the Australian Sim Racing Group CS Servers(Sponsored by Wireplay), these WILL contribute to your usage as these are not Telstra property.

ffs, now my gap between unrated and billable is 8mb, while i spend AGES in wp servers?

Yea I had only a 12MB gap between billable useage and total usage... I play on the WP server a lot... I had downloaded nothing either when ti was like that... I don't know what the score is. I don't care at the moment, but if I get a bill for going over 3gig I will be pissed off.

There are heaps of stories of big f***ups though... A quote from www.whirlpool.net.au

One reader reports having received an 80% usage warning email, followed some time afterwards by a 50% usage warning. She claims both emails were received on the 3rd December, just three days after excess usage charging came into effect. She also claims that for much of that time her computer was switched off and the most she could have used was 300MB.

and a few days ago, the gap was 20mb
sure the gaming servers are excluded? sure some telstra tech didnt f*** it up, like they did my bpgay install? (which took 7 technicians to come out to end up fixing it)

On a particular day I had ~170MB billable usage... Went back a few days later and it was at ~180MB.

I just compared my DUmeter logs and the Telstra Usgae Meter. The DUMeter logs are nearly always less than what is stated on the Usage Meter, however on a few days the Usage Meter says more... Annoying thing is though DUMeter counts everything, including data going across my LAN - so if I am on the other computer and I download 100MB, DUMeter will count 200MB... 100MB from the internet, and then 100MB from my LAN transfering the file. Ah well, so long as usage meter always says less than DUmeter it is good enough I spose.
