My g/f just moved to Toowong and would like the internets. Although she could get free dial up from UQ (by free I mean she would still have to rent the phone line, which she doesn't do now), she wants something a little more decent, but obviously for as cheap as possible.

She would only use it for uni work, downloading lecture materials and researching on the UQ databases... so I guess around 1 - 3G per month would be enough.

U can get some super cheap plans if u don't use much data, which she probably woudlnt.

if your looking for cheap, the cheapest DSL plan i know of is the Iprimus $19.95p/m. It's only 256/64 and 500Mb quota and if you go over the quota it gets capped to 64k (rather than being charged) but it's still better than dialup.
