Finally a decent Electric Vehicle.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Vt1AdfgcNiQ The vid explains most of the details but here is some additional info. - The car will cost approx $90,000US ($119,000AU) - It is however a short run 'Sportscar' built in the UK. - Designed by Lotus. - Will only be sold in the U.S. - Uses Lithium-Ion batteries. - Takes approx 3.5 hours for full recharge. - Range = 250 miles/400klms - Accelerates 0-60mph/100kph in approx 4secs. - It will operate in cold climates as it has an battery/engine heater. - USES NO PETROL! Kinda sad or suspicious that a small private company had to be the first ones to do this. |

well casa, you read the website and find out they have a portable charger that you can take on long drives. use the time spent charging as a rest stop.

Other companies did this years ago, but the cars were only ever leased. They ended up taking them back... and crushing them into cubes.

^ Wrong again. Partly anyway. You cant compare the 2006 Tesla Roadster to the impractical, poorly engineered, pathetically marketed, ridiculous turd-looking 1996 GM EV1. No comparison I'm afraid.
