Exactly how dirty is it? You shouldn't need to wet the cloth for everyday use.

Or do you have a family to poke the screen?

I use the packaging that came wrapped around my LCD, it's used to prevent smudges and does a decent job of cleaning it.

Plus http://qgl.ausforums.com/?agn=thread&id=2444558 parabol has a good response there.

yer - i liked rubba's reply the most:

we often use the sheet of foam that comes in motherboard boxes, beleive it or not that stuff removes finger smudges completely and doesn't hurt the screen itself. I didn't beleive it till I saw it work firsthand.

you should wipe it down with a 50/50 mix of water / isopropanol (alcohol)

if you have lots of sanding going on I suggest you pack up your pc until it's over. you don't want all that sawdust getting into the psu/monitor and getting warm WOOF oops my pc caught fire.

Reverend, where did you get it from and what size is it?

Found the size, 19". You should have no hassles swapping it over.

Viewsonics have a 30 day 0-dead-pixel warranty.

Take it back to the store and get it replaced on the spot. If they refuse (e.g bad customer service stores like GAMEDUDE), call Viewsonic's support number and they will arrange for a free pickup + replacement from/to your house.

i have called my Brother (he bought the monitor as a present from the familly to me) and its going back monday i have issue's with the text clarity as it is slighty blured in bands down the screen in about 3 cm intervals ? and to make things worse the dam pixel has started working again ( i had friends check it out and they confirmed there was a dead one) so back it goes , cant figure this one out.... just pissed off
