I'm after a multifunction printer (copies/faxs/scans), specifically something that can handle OHT's (i assume some don't do that too well) and scan pretty well. It is not going to be used heavily for faxing or copying.
Also features like wireless would be great. Price range - max $500 Any suggestions? Thanks in advanced. |

Skitza, the software that comes with the Canon can do that.

i second the canon. one, canon printers are easy to use and setup, but i love the cd print function. i've printed about 4 times as many cd labels than i have pages :)

I'm so f***ing pissed off - I bought a epson stylus c65 a while back - didn't use it for ages cause the ink ran out (the one you get with the printer). Went out recently and bought a new cartridge and the f***ing printer chewed it up and wouldn't print properly - ended up going through the whole cartridge trying to get it to work.
So in short don't buy epson. |

Skitza, the software that comes with the Canon can do that. Oh good news, so if I bought one of the PIXMA range this function would be included ? So I'm guessing ti doesn't do it straight off from the printer itself? |

I tell you what, I'll double check this when I'm back in the office in the morning, just to be sure :)
The software I'm thinking of is called MP navigator (from memory), yes, it comes with the Pixima multifunction machines. |

You should probably tell them that you're looking for an Inkjet, cause half the people are recommending laser machines.
Canon is the best brand, unless... you decide to believe that HP's 02 series of inks really are as good as HP seem to think they are. They suposedly recirculate ink so that if you do a head clean, it doesn't waste any. That being said, I don't believe them... MP830 is the latest top model in canon, and the 780 was the prevoious model. Basic differences are 780's lack of colour lcd, different cartridges and a change from 4800x1200@2pl to 9600x2400@1pl. 830's print better photos (marginly) and 780s have cheaper ink, but they both rock. As for the rest... HP = Too expensive on ink, lack photo quality Epson = Not bad, but their multifunctions look weak compared to canon Brother = Forget about it. (Note this is for INK multifunctions, not lasers) |

all of the canon inkjets will print on transparencies... you just have to buy the right sheets.
