Anyone remember that one thread that read like this, but ended with:

So should I stick with my mage or reroll a class with more survivability?

lol ^^

and

when you heard them having sex you should have opened the door and stood there stroking yourself.

Was this lifted directly from the SA forums or has the term E/N become common on the internet and I just missed it? I vaguely remember this thread.

this is sort of happening to a mate of mine.

him and his wife have played for ages, got like 8 lvl 60's between them (its kind of sad how much time they spend playing, but they have known each other for like 20 years and they have always played games, so its cool).

Fast forward to them joining a high end raid guild. Their marriage is pretty much over, they are only in the same house because of the kids. She is getting flirted on by all the other guys in the guild, husband objects then gets accused of being an overprotective jelous nut.

Anyway, she spends about 14hours a day now on WoW with these american guys. While husband goes to work and earns the bread. Hes a great mate of mine, but i think he is a bit weak, I would have stomped the point home immediatley - but no, he goes home meekly after work each day, and plays WoW beside her :( Even though shes flirting with guys on Vent/swapping pictures/meeting them at E3

crazy stuff

i guess for some its more than a game, its a social life?

Ouch!
I couldn't be bothered reading more than a couple pages, did this end up being true or a hoax?

*Edit*
I found myself with some more extra time than I expected so skimmed it for more OP postings.
Turns out it was a hoax but seriously it's so damn plausible a situation it makes you think ...

Since the only people gaming were inept geeks.

But seriously, I hope this guy does remove himself from the gene pool and save future generations from such bulls***.

(On a side note, my first non-shared level 60 the other week http://wow.allakhazam.com/profile.html?1010779 =D)

Some people just have too much time on their hands writing up bulls*** like that, let alone playing wow.

Just wow.

This is against ToS and not something you want to go around admitting. I'm sure blizzard would be quite happy to have a gander at your and your friends' records.

Though I think you know that.

*shrug* I could get him banned if you want, but it seems like a mean thing to do just to prove a point

Scratch that, I'd never get him banned to prove a point or anything else. I don't want someone to do it and have it pinned on it me.

In conclusion, you're all f*****s

LOL

8-)

Just change guilds or server transfer if you still like the game itself. It's like any microcosm, you will experience the same wankers you experience in real life.

I gave up raiding a while back cause I didn't have time to keep up the commitment I had going.., but still like to do battlegrounds now and then. Had some awesome times raiding though. Went through a number of guilds which all had their appeal. Whether it was a learning/following or nurturing/mentoring experience, both had their appeal.

Gonna get back into raiding on Frostmourne though with a 225ms ping. Hopefully the transfer process is smooth sailing.

Never thought I'd clock up 63 days /played though :) haha oh well

Heh, you can rack up game time easily. The time is...it takes about 7-10 days of actual time spent in game to get a character to level 60 for your average player pushing it quite hard. Power levellers will of course go a lot harder and quicker. Some people it takes up to 20 days in game to level to 60. Then you start to raid. Your average raid in the high level dungeons when you first start out is something like what...you might say raid on a Friday night and spend 5-6 hours in there. Over the course of 1 month that's about 1 full day raiding just once a week.

Over the course of a year it amounts to about 10 or so days I guess spent in game (if you stick to raiding once a week). If you have been playing since day 1, that's quite some time racked up without much effort at all. The thing is you're in the game doing stuff I guess....beats sitting on your arse veging in front of a TV :p

Totally wrong to let the game consume all of your time though. So many people just stop going out all together...stop playing sport...its bizarre.

A better word would be stupidity.

Am I the only one that thinks that Blizzard are losing customers at an increasing rate?

I doubt it would be noticeable on their end, just quietly :) If anything, according to the MMOGChart stats, WOW is continuing to gain momentum. Has over 50% of the market cornered which is just crazy.
