A new developer diary on GameSpot from Paul 'Locki' Wedgwood of Splash Damage implies that we might have to wait until 2007 to see Enemy Territory: Quake Wars:

Unfortunately, sometimes effort isn't all you need -- sometimes you just need more time. To ensure the quality we want, we've decided to push the release out of 2006 to allow for extended testing, feedback and game balancing.

Good news for those that like polished games, bad news for those that like early unfinished games with bugs. This will leave gamers with not a lot to look forward to in the FPS multiplayer department for the rest of the year!

Edited to add: it should be noted that this is unconfirmed as yet (hence the question mark in the subject); we're awaiting more information and will let you know ASAP if it is confirmed.

2007 will be the year of DX10? possible they might incorporate some swanky new features maybe with the new cards coming out

see, this is where EA cashes in....they not only make gamers pay to play beta test....but pay for patches aswell....ingenius!

It's strange that it was such a low key part of the article, since previous reports were for a September release. Activision US were even saying that pre-orders would be commencing late this month.

The intro to the article didn't even bear mention of the delay, but I must admit it's hard to take that comment any other way, particularly as it's coming straight from a key developer and not publisher PR.

Oh well, in the mean time get Warcraft III and play DOTA on b.net with me :P
