it was crazy ek... but outside was worse! the aussies partied so hard, even when we lost. i dont think munchen would still be standing if we won!

ronaldinho (sp?) may be a f***ing awesome soccer player, but sheeshhh he's not much to look at.

I think an Australian crowds are the worst. When it was Australia vs Japan, one of the Japan players was seriously hurt, and he was limping (and not faking it), they stopped the game for no more than a minute. All you could hear from the crowd was "booo".

the thing everyone was booing about was the fact that they called Aust rough.. then they all would fall down to the slighest touch..

you could see that guy was faking it.. but if he had of gotten straight up then the gig would have been up.. so he had to continue with the 'OMFG I GOT A BROKEN LEG' act

Man they deserve boo's. Soccer players are the worst f***ing sportsmen out of any sport, the amount of dives that occur in a single game is just amazing. Pussy f***s running the game should bring in measures to stamp it out, its beyond a joke.

For years I've been saying that FIFA or the FA for the various countries should be able to hand out 1-2 match bans for players who are found to have taken a dive after the game. It would discourage it.

just check replays after the game. People who consitently dive should be warned and then suspended.

So true, saw some old footage of a goalie take a dive on SBS FIFA FEVA. the play had stopped and he was facing a player with his back to the ref and faked being head butted or punched or something. basically just fell on the ground holding his head

There you're talking about changing the way the game is refereed and that's something that probably wont happen while FIFA remains the governing body. They're against anything that doesn't conform to traditional football like live video replays etc.

I mean let the game flow as normal and referee as it always has been.

But after games, just run the eye over the video and if you see players making blatant dives consistently then have a quiet word in their ear that it's not very sportsmanlike and perhaps a suspension will remind them of the value of fair play.

The reason why dudes keep taking falls is because refs keep giving out penalties and yellow cards, possibly forcing a coach to pull a player off the field. Soccer pussies would take less dives if the refs gave out less yellow cards and penalties..

However the yellow cards and penatlies are a big part of the game, so it might not be as fun without all that jazz :/

Good photos moobs, soon as I can I will put up mine. Probably less exciting, mostly of Marienplatz (the big square in the middle of town where everyone congregated) and out at the olympic stadium with the other ten or twenty-odd thousand aussies that didnt get tickets.

I mean a counter attack would be completely ruined if we all had to sit around waiting for video ref to churn out a decision on a goal. It would put teams like Australia and Italy at a massive disadvantage. Infact the reason everyone is so pissed about the referee in the Aus-Brazil game is that the constant fouls against Australia stopped us from hitting a rhythm.

I think FIFA has a healthy degree of luddism.

However there are some instances where game play is stopped for a significant enough period to utilise video replays, made obvious by the amount of time players spend on the ground holding up game play. Although you couldn't argue against whether the player was actually hurt or not (no matter how much it seems like they faked it), all you could do is not penalise the other team.

Unfortunately you couldn't use it offsides (where it is probably most needed) because you'd have to either check AFTER a goal had been scored so as to not stop play unnecessarily, or stop play and hope you got it right.

That was basically the situation I was thinking of. I think Australia scored at some point in the brazil game didnt they? but the ref didn't see it so it wasn't a goal. It may have been the Jap game but Guus was jumping around like some sorta.

The only reason I apply it to diving is that not every dive results in a player rolling around holding the wrong foot for five minutes. The quick penalty would be a thing of the past if you waited for a fourth officials deliberations.

all in all Im saying I like the element of chance in a game. It usually doesn't alter the outcome much anyway, look at both the aussie games. We should have beaten Japan and did, and it was never very likely we were going to beat Brazil and we lost. I does unfortunatly come with having to put up with diving but refs getting it wrong doesnt always work against us vinnie grellas chalenge on ronaldo for example. That was a flat yellow card and brazil didn't even get a penalty.

They should have a video review group like the NRL and AFL, if some f***en pussy f*** takes a dive then they miss a game.

And the refs in soccer are crap, I thought the NRL refs were shocking but soccer refs suck even more. This guy was blantanly tripped and the ref let play go on when it shoulda been a spot penalty, now why cant they have a video ref who tells the dumbass on the ground that it was a trip.
