Enemy Territory! It's even free. Need at least 10 people for a decent game though.

Mac and games in the same sentence is not cool mang.
I used to play this old school game on some old old school macs with Crystals in it... you had to fly around and get them or something or other, was the best game back then.... |

que exo Thup? Gaming on G5s? Nasty. Yeah, go with the suggestions above. Hope you got a good deal on the Quads though, cinema displays are sexy. |

G5s are gr8. The new intel (Mactel?) processors they are sticking in the Macbooks SUCK COCK. Matey at work got one three weeks ago and has replaced it three times, turns out the mactel proccessors dont work with Adobe Creative Suite products (photoshop, indesign, illustrator) well at all. And the damn thing keeps swallowing CD's, constant crashes, sooo many problems.
Thats why we upgraded before the mactel processors hit the towers cause they suxxor the coxxor. |

There's nothing wrong with the Intel processors. It's the fact that you're running those applications under Rosetta, so of course it's going to be slow as.

I just said that G5s bite the proverbial for gaming. For Power-PC native apps of course the G5 is going to be better, you're emulating a different processor environment in real-time to run the older apps. Did you ever use VirtualPC and see how slow that was?

macs + lan:
call of duty 2 quake 4 neverwinter nights ut2004 civilization 3 battlefield 1942 c&c generals diablo 2 warcraft 3 WoW quake 3 halo --- basically anything that isn't Half-Life based (and stuff that hasnt been ported yet) is available for mac , only slowdown on the g5's is cause they put s***ty raedons in em by default :) turns out the mactel proccessors dont work with Adobe Creative Suite products (photoshop, indesign, illustrator) That is just adobe working its ripoff magic to make everybody buy CS3 when it comes out, rather then spending a few weeks making a universal patch for CS2. |
