Hey guys, I'm looking for a product to clean my LCD screens of smudges. I've googled various replies from glass cleaner to water but was interested in any products that you guys may have used with good results (either around the house products or purchased)

Thanks

You can always use water and a lint-free cloth, but that requires a trip to the kitchen or toilet to prepare soapy water.

I'd instead recommend a $15 LCD cleaning kit from Jaycar. It comes with "special liquid" (most probably soap+water), a microfibre cloth and dust-removal brush. It works extremely well and results in no mess whatsoever, and more importantly no crap left on the LCD.

I can't recommend this enough.

At home I use water and a microfibre cloth (that came with my old glasses) works great for me. Makes sense to me as the cloth is designed to clean glasses without removing any of the anti glare coating or scratch the surface so it seemed ideal.

At work when we have nothing on hand we often use the sheet of foam that comes in motherboard boxes, beleive it or not that stuff removes finger smudges completely and doesn't hurt the screen itself. I didn't beleive it till I saw it work firsthand.

I was going to post this exact same thread today, but thought better of it, because we all know what 'smudges' really are.

KFC refresher wipes! (Or any similar type towelettes). I find they work a treat, and you can walk into pretty much any store and ask for a couple over the counter (although you might need to drop a line like "I didn't get any refresher towels with my drive through order...").

They're alcoholic, and any anti glare is going to get f***ed up by them eventually
