I bought HL2 Episode 1 an approx 4 hours later - completed (on max hard)
I don't believe that I actually thought it might have a bit more in it...

You can justify your purchase as much as you like to make yourself feel better, but in the end it's a rip-off. I'd rather pay $12 at the movies to get 4 hours (2 movies) worth of entertainment, if you want to be pedantic about $x/hour usage.

This is coming from someone who bought and LOVED Half-life and Opposing Force. Fantastic stuff back then. Now they're milking.

^^ Aww yer, so cheap and it's 2mins walk from here. Got a student card and it is $2 cheaper.
At the coast BC&C want $30 for 2 tickets and $12 for a large coke and small popcorn.

Correction, it's now only $1 cheaper for students.

kind of sucks that gaming is heading this way, thus im not going to support it by avoiding such purchases.

the only scenario that ive heard of that will introduce episodic gaming is alone in the dark 4, where really an episode is just another word for level except the format is like a tv show. and when you buy the game you get all levels/episodes.
