Whats with the delays of transfering money from one bank to another..it takes about 3 bussienss days to transfer money from my ANZ bank account to my St. George bank account and if its done on weekends you have to wait till the start of the week before the transaction is processed..WTF i though the hole idea of internet banking was to provide a faster service that wouldnt care if its a monday or a sunday..

its not like the f***ing servers take the week end off..so WTF, i trnasfured money from my anz account on friday and it still hasnt shown up in my St. Goerge account its really starting to piss me off.

Banks dont open on weekends, so its only normal it hasnt cleared yet. Also, its probably taking a while to clear because of St. Goerge, bitch to them about it.

Probably won't show up until Tuesday.

I'm keeping all my accounts with Suncorp now becasue it's a pain having to transfer. Not to mention remembering different logins etc.

yea id like to keep all my accounts with ANZ but anz is gay when it comes to Visa Debit cards, they charge $6 a month for it, where as i dont get charged a thing for it with St. George.

also i know banks dont open on the weekend but it shouldnt matter no people are involved in this process execpt the person making the transfer, it like if all the ATMs stoped working on week ends..

Yeah OK, maybe banks should just cop out and hold their servers accountable when something borks up in the process.

not really no..if ATM can work 24/7 (and remember you can use ANY banks atm) why can money trnasfer? im serious what the problem..

Sucks to be you. When going from commbank to commbank. It's instant. Going from Commbank to ANZ it takes over night. Thats weekends included.

I just got one of these, pretty sure cus im a student i get no fees! :D But even if I dont its still worth it!

its so people don't just transfer hundreds of dollars out of your account into theres without your permission (dirty hackers) but i know with westpac, if you send someone money once. then the next time it goes instantly.

I think that if sufficient security measures are put in place, and enough emphasis is put on complex passwords, etcs***, then there's no reason why it can't happen instantly..

It's not as if every single transaction could be manually (could it?) processed overnight (which is when most bank1 --> bank2) transfers occur (assuming M-F). It seems more like bank1 not trusting bank2 enough to recognise the transfer immediately?

I also think that overnight for some and more than overnight for others is a f***ing crock, especially with banks s***c*** opening hours you'd think they could do some cool internet things :(

I bet they use all that money that is in Transfer Limbo to buy and sell on the stock market.

If it is done on a friday, it should show up on saturday morning.

If it is done on a weekend it will show up on monday night

If it is done the day before or on a public holiday it will show up the night of the next working day

BOQ - CBA and vice versa is all overnight for me. I think you are getting a s***ty deal for some reason. I can wait one day for transfers etc, its cheques taking 3 days to clear that s***s me!
