I've just got some random s*** for my computer (ram DVD burner, DVD drive, Case and HDD) i put everything in the old case and it worked find and dandy. this morning i decided to put it in the new case. everything sounds and looks like its booting up but for some reason the screen wont turn on. This has happened in the past but it get over it after i fiddle around with the hardware. any ideas?

Well there are many different issues here. Same Video Card? If so, make sure it is seated okay. Generally, go around everything to make sure it is seated ok. Is it the same power supply? if not, find the old one or a spare strong reliable one to test. Is the machine beeping? If so, chances are something isnt seated right. Have you plugged the monitor in okay? Try another video card? Make sure it is the video card not the onboard video (if applicable). This is an easy one that even I occasionally get tricked up on. If you try all of this and still to no avail, rip it out and try it on the bench, no case, just vid card, mobo, cpu, ram, psu. if that don't work, then mate, you mighta killed your motherboard.

ok I've got it up and running sort of :P it keeps sticking on the IDE screen. I've taken the extra ram stick out and the HDD, i can go into BIOS but it takes ages. As soo as i took the CPU and the CPU heat sink off it seemed to boot. I dunno if it beeps or no cause i dont have a speaker.

exis was right .....
to a degree.
I swaped hard driver's over so the 120 was a master and the 200 is a slave formated c:/ and it seems to be working. not lagging on the ide screens or anything. f***ing my comp is a dodgy thing.
Thanks guys.
