either at my house (50 metres away from arriverdeci, down gordon st) or may head to la dolce vita or rue da paris to watch it on their screens.

Good on Oz for winning and ripper of a goal!

That said I've lost a lot of respect for soccer over the years, yeah theres a lot of skill invloved and I actually played it for 7 years of my youth... however...

It's such a divefest these days :/ Oh no your foot brushed my leg *dramatic dive to headbutting the ground* Makes them all look like a bunch of pansies.

One Greek guy in particular would do something and appeal for penalties almost everytime the ball came near him. He missed a shot on goal turns around and starts yelling s*** at the ref... noone was anywhere near him, he just f***ed it up... fkn crybabies >:|

So much f*****ry stopping makes me mad, would make for such a better game if they introduced a video ref that could make decsions on dives and reverse penalties IMO.

you been watching the premier / champions league for the last 10 years buddy?

at least the aussies get straight back up if they go down, unlike f***** poms who do 10 army rolls and change their injury from a broken neck to a sprained wrist to a spoon in the f***ing eye

The worst one was rivaldo in the last world cup playing against turkey. A turk kicked the ball at him from a distance and hit him in the leg but rivaldo ends up collapsing holding his stomach.

The Netherlands is ranked number 3 in the world, so should be an interesting game.

Of couse :P It doesn't matter where its played, there are players out there that try to milk penalties with spastic dives. However yeah premier league is where its worst.

It just saddens me how much it has just been accepted as part of the game. Its one of the reasons I started losing interest and eventually stopped playing, cause as I moved on towards an adult league you see it happen more and more.

I loved playing back in my early teens where if you did fall it was for a genuine reason and even then if you were hurting you'd be back up on your feet running/limping towards the ball to play on!

Yeah ahha i remmeber that one, how funny would it be if the rules in soccer allowed a sniper to take these pansies out, would make the game so much more inteteresting

Greece were absolutely shocking last night. They put a lot of effort into theatricality and not much into the actual game.

Australia should have won by much more, but seemed like the forwards were all half asleep and didn't want to shoot unless inside the box!

I also think that Australia didn't gel that well. A couple of plays on the wings were great, but the game through defense and mid was a little rusty.

All in all it looked like a pretty poor quality match from both sides. Nothing like what is needed to prepare for the world cup finals. Hopefully the Dutch game will be better.

They need a rule that if an appeal is deemed unsubstantiated that the person is allowed to dish out pain equal to the drama displayed.
