The NSW halves combination of Finch and Anasta has given the Rooster's an awesome (sarcasm) 8th placing on the NRL ladder and Hodgson (Fullback) with the Tigers not even in the top 8, whereas Lockyer, Bowen and Thurston are all in top 4 teams and they each have contributed a decent amount to the success of their clubs. I think this will be the most telling factor of the game with the relative inexperience of the Maroon's debutants being more than covered by this dominant QLD halves combination. I really don't think that, assuming it does happen, if the NSW forwards get good go forward (and they might with Mason etc over a lesser experienced pack) that it will be converted into points by the highly unprepared (Finch: 4th choice Halfback, came into camp 2 days ago) and lacklustre NSW halves combination (Finch and Anasta = s***).

So, QLD by 16.

If you had have seen the reply of Buderus getting kicked in the head, you would have seen Buderus kick the QLD player in the head first, while he was trying to get up. QLD player kicked him back, then Buderus got up, threw his weight around a bit then got penalised for it. Suck s*** I say.

i don't think queensland gelled all that well together, forwards had some good moments, but needed to uhh go forward more.. i think matty bowen needs to be interchange for impactness and rhys wesser come on to fullback, or move thurston to 5/8 lockyer to fullback and hunt to halfback.

Queensland had some pretty dumb moments. Like when bowen got the ball, turned and ran straight into another QLD player. That was dumb.

For every positional change people would make, who would you put in their place(s)? Thurston's been the form player the last 1-2 seasons and played ok last night, I dunno who you'd be able to pick from the NRL ON FORM to replace Thurston. Or even Bowen, Lockyer, etc. QLD just haven't got the NRL numbers. Now Queensland Cup is another story, I don't have a clue about their playing calibre :P

It's all attributes, speed, strength and agility rather than a great deal of unnatural "skill" (although passing/kicking/catching is a developed skill).

But that's also part of the big attraction, as Taggs said - so many people have played it and therefore want to see "the best" doing the sport they have played.
