That Williams chassis doesn't seem great but the new Cosworth V8 bolted into the back of it really seems to have a power advantage (when it's not grenading) despite no manufacturer backing .... weird.

I drove the v8 'supercars' (one was an AU Ford ex winfield racer the other a commy) around QR last Sunday and basically it felt slow compared to the look of that insane speed.

Put me in one of those F1's and i'd be putting around the corners in comparison =] hitting the corners at those speeds those guys are doing is crazy, I would be expecting to go straight into the wall, instead those things just go like trains on rails, what kinda G's do they pull, isn't it upwards of 5?

I think it's actually the braking Gs that are the highest because the brakes are so good and the cars so light.

I use about 55L/350-400k's city driving with an 8. (undersized carb for its displacement however).

My 4cyl gets me about 24L/100k. Not so good.

Maybe if I put a race pipe on my car, I can pretend I've got a V8 and then my fuel consumption would be... oh wait, I guess it'd still be s***. oh well.

This was never about my car, I never brought it up - and I don't think any reference has been made to it here.

All I've said in this thread (the QR reference that nF 'fired up' over and started this s*** storm) was stating that I've been in a car (not my own) doing pretty high speeds and around corners at high speeds which I thought was pretty fast, and that comparitively, that video is absolutely insane how fast they are going.

But apparently that is irrelevant.

I'll apologise for the s*** storm and for biting the original 'troll' that is in this thread, but f***ed if I'm taking responsibility for it, it takes two or more to tango, and I wasn't the one who asked to dance.
