We had a little issue for the last day with one of our web servers, some of you probably noticed it, but everything is back on track now though we will probably be farting around in the background over the next few days.

In other news, I've been away for the last two weeks, I was off in sunny spain for a week to a little seaside town called Alicante, on a course which was good fun other than going out and getting trashed with a bunch of americans the night before I had to fly back to heathrow! Then spent a week in the UK, getting back into Oz on Monday. Best thing I saw on my trip was this poster that was plastered all over the walls in the streets in spain, check it out!

Also, trogs off on holiday for a few months, so you'll be stuck with me for a bit.

I'd hazard a guess that after viewing this photo the large under 16 demographic may have gone over their excessive porn collection away just to make sure real porn actors don't have a face that bad.

Chances are if they're under 16 and viewing ausgamers with their parents they're most likely still being breast fed, in which case it's nothing they haven't seen recently. Otherwise they've probably been exposed to goatse and tubgirl and other such lovely sites, in which case this is a push in the right direction. If they fall outside these two categories then they probably have to use hundreds of spyware programs to stop the porn dialers and popups.

As for being able to somehow control the rate of one's own maturity - this is a nice theory, forget about it. Without specifically defending this pic's linkage on ausgamers - life happens and you deal with it, maturity is almost defined by seeing or experiencing new and challenging s*** (puritans might call it "temptation") you weren't ready for, in school, on the street, wherever. The owners of a private website don't have to practice what they preach. They're entitled to set rules for users of their site, while not observing those rules themselves. Regardless of whether or not you think they should set an example by following those rules, this is the simple fact.

To summarise before I go to bed... I think that it is totally wrong to have a link to pornogrpahic imagry on the front page of a major australian website which IS frequented by children not because of some satistic desire to see porn banned but because it isn't restricted. Until the age of 16 or 18, under Australian law, certain decisions are the right of the parents. You are potentially violating those parents rights by leaving that link there. Some parents may let little timmy browse Ausgamers with minimal supervision because they don't percieve significant "danger". The OFLC would give a picture like this a MA15+ at worst if shown on film or TV in relative context like it is. Where's the arguement again?
