G'day i recently got an external Hard drive and it seem to work on my mother dears computer just fine, but when i go to connect it to my computer it seem to work(makes the noise to say soemthing has been pluged in and the bubble pops up saying a "mass storage device has be connected" or what ever it says) but it doesn seem to work. I have been into Add hardware and it comes up with the msg "This device cannot start. (Code 10)"
i've re-installed the usb 2.0 drivers and it doesn't seem to work. do any of you guys have any idea's. ps its an Astone Isodrive Ultra 410 60 gig External HDD. |

What's your mobo chipset?
EDIT: oh its a 2.5' notebook drive, well only thing i can suggest is get latest usb drivers from your chipset manufacture, ie VIA/NVIDIA/INTEL... last edited by 0z at 20:36:55 06/Apr/06 |

hmm very odd, but its via chipset tho :S
could be that your usb port is not suppling enuff power for the device, gota 4 port powered hub to test? might need to buy a usb 2.0 pci card if all else fails, there pretty cheap these days like $20-25 these are the reasons i stay clear from VIA chipset based mobo's all problematic. |
