h4x0rs? you mean hackers? whats hacking got to do with illegal copies of games?

also if you own a copy of the game i cant see making a backup copy so the orginal doesnt get destroyed illegal.

ps. you sig is very gay and immature.

I never knew this existed, until last night.
I feel bad now for all those developers that are starving.

they need to do a newer version of that.

is it true that Valve's HL2 (and mods) is the only game on the earth that can't be warez?

World Of Warcraft needs a legit copy to play. Unless you're playing on a hacked server and even then good luck trying to get a team together.

I Don't believe so..

I've seen links to files on sites that supposedly circumvent copy protections even up to their latest patches/updates, can't say that I've seen any links to games built on source tho, just the original Steam games (CS, HL2 etc)

mmorpgs are the only games that you really cant pirate, simply because they work on an account basis,

anything else has work arounds

There where pirated copies of HL2 before HL2 was offically available. I'd guess you can't play online with it though, but that's the same as pretty much any game designed for online play for a long, long time.

At some stage there were pirate copies that could be played on Steam. I don't know what the status is right now. Don't really care either.

Even MMORPGs have limited work arounds. Although, you would have to argue that your not getting game, just the artwork.

There's more to it than that.

Back in the Diablo2 days, people happily pirated the game because they could play single-player and host their own private multiplayer games.

MMORPGs on the other hand are run server-side on the developer's servers, and you can't get access to the server code unless it leaks onto the net or someone [painstakingly] reverse-engineers the network protocols and builds a dummy server.
