yeh, not my cup of tea to be honest. I'd much prefer a sporty Electric Vehicle with the new Li-Ion batteries. EV's are a lot less complicated and you can recharge at home.

why the hell do all these environmentally friendly cars look like something from a sci-fi movie about the future? I see those movies and think to myself f*** those cars are ugly I hope I don't ever end up driving something that looks like that.

any kind of normal ordinary car, not some space age s***ter that's mostly made of glass & looks like it should glide through the stratosphere. falcon/commodore/skyline/180sx/etc NORMAL cars.

looks fine to me in that side shot, although the rear view from the drivers seat might be a bit lacking

electric/hydrogen cars whats the point when we still use oil/coal to make the electricity and hydrogen

^ I've been googling the last few wks on this topic and the answer to your question is that a Electric Vehicle recharging from a coal powerstation is much more efficient than a modern 4 cyclinder vehicle.

Also home solar systems like the 'sunball' are getting cheaper all the time. Therefore your roof could put energy back into the grid to offset what your E.V takes out. Basically u are using the grid as a battery. I know this because ppl are doing it right NOW!.

On another note its alot easier to make the 'grid' more efficient with new Coal, Bio, Wind, Solar, Tidal, Hydo, Geothermal and Nuclear energy sources , than it is to make Australia's current fleet of 15 million or so vehicles.

Personally, I feel Hydrogen powered vehicles are not as good as the new generation of EV's or Hybrid's. Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicles are still very complicated and only offer slightly better performance and economy. Whereas high performance EV's and new Flex fuel/Plugin Hybrids are here now.

a fuel cell car recharged by a coal fired station won't be more economical than a 4 cyl car

soz slaps forhead i dont see how spendin heaps of time and energy to find more efficent ways to sustain our huge usage of power makes sence at all. how about um just useing less power to start with.
