Just watching the "Wrap up" of the commonwealth games. We're on 23 gold and 56 total, compared to the next best, England who are on 8 gold and 25 total.

Thats insane. We own everyone.

"The Chaser's War on Everything" on the ABC last week summed it up quite well really, with their commonwealth games song

it's an easy way to win, when you're the only team, come on australia let's share the one sided dream

etc

What do wars have to do with the commonwealth games you bunch of c***s.

and yes we're totally pwning everyone else, however I find it particularly boring with all these "clean-sweeps" in the swimming...why should we even be allowed to have 3 swimmers in the one race?

Didn't Australia send troops to the first gulf war? (can't actually remember) plus there is the second gulf war, so if I'm correct 2.

What the hell is it with all the danm swimming. The only sport I'm interested in is the cycling, and I've only seen a single race so far due to being at work :(

But they have broad shoulders in comparision to their melons and everything is out of proportion. That and most of the time they're under water so the image is distorted. Unless you're talking about under water cameras then that's just going too much out of your way for a perv.

Is there beach volleyball in the commonwealth games? The birds in that are so fit it's unbelieveable. It's like you need to look f***ing hot as a pre-requisite to play for your country. Beach volleyball ftw.

:w-hat:

I have heard numerous times, in my meger viewing of the games, that a certain competitor was the best in the world, world champion, olympic gold medalist/record holder... youd think australia was at least a decent country :(

The U.S. government said Thursday Canada holds the world's second-largest oil reserves, taking into account Alberta oil sands previously considered too expensive to develop.

Furthermore:
In Billions of Barrels:

  1. Saudi Arabia / 261.8

  2. Iraq / 112.5

  3. United Arab Emirates / 97.8

  4. Kuwait / 96.5

  5. Iran / 89.7

  6. Venezuela / 77.7

Bah... and all the rest aren't worth mentioning. There you have it folks, worldwide oil reserves. This information is dated 2004.

I liked the fact that they showed some of the squash last night.

I enjoy watching sports that you know people actually play for recreation and you can relate too. Rugby, basketball, racket sports etc are so much more enjoyable for me to watch than stuff like shotput and others that you know only an extremely small minority of people actually participate in. The more modern sports that are added to the games the better :)

hey, me and my buddy at work both enjoyed that they showed some squash as well

it was nice to have an event that takes skill shown, rather than a mindless ability to cope with pain and suffering
