This game will not be televised past 3:30pm. For anyone who is able to make it to the Gabba I suggest you fork out the money cause it's going to be awesome! I am rather pissed off that I will not get to see the game. Does anyone know if it will be on cable? |

If it is on cable then the pub might not be a bad option tonight. Then again if it does become a sellout then they will show the whole game on 9 (and I'm assuming because the tickets haven't been available long that a lot of people will be buying them today).

my missus and her friends are talking all us guys to the cricket FOR valentines... dont ditch the girls just get better ones.
also the fact that it is still knocking Dr. phil off the tv makes it all worth while, that show is absolute junk. also it says light showers, fingers crossed it doest rain at all... ahaha probably no chance last edited by Anono at 11:01:28 14/Feb/06 |

a bit of a stupid idea by ACB to put a cricket match on valentines day really. good planning guys. probably would of made more sense to schedule the final (if required) tomorrow. that way all the guys whom have gf/wives that believe in valentines day can alwasys say, we did valentines day yesterday, now its cricket day!
yet people only have two days to organise and also it is a tuesday all contributing to slow ticket sales i guess. i was thinking the other day that with the new Gabba with a capacity of around 42k should challenge SGC to host a guaranteed final (ie either the 1st or 2nd). the SGC has a capacity of around 43k, just a little more than the gabba. |

the stupid part is, the match won't sell out and the ACB in all their wisdom will say "oh brisbane doesn't deserve OD finals if they're not going to turn up" when we got 2 f***ing days notice, its on a work day and its hallmark shareprice increase day.

spidz, reckon. I object to being extorted into having to go the cricket when, in all probability, I won't be able to get there until about 6pm (assuming I go directly from work, which I'd rather not do). I'd still have to pay what, $40 or $50 to get in. I'd probably only get a crap seat because I got there so late. If Australia plays like they did the other day there might only be like an hour of gameplay left at that point.
I'd love to go, but I refuse to be their little lemming and march along to the cricket because they're nazifying the broadcast. I recommend others do the same. Anyone not in Queensland with a TV tuner and some spare upstream? :) |

Trog, its not like this is a new thing... I can't remember when they have shown the whole game to the home city when its not a sellout.

So? I don't want to just put up with it because its not a new thing. Paying $40-$50 for lousy seats then having to pay $5 for a beer and $6 for a pie... extortion isn't the way to get people to go to sport. Making it worth their time and money is, and this isn't worth either for me.

yes but surely there should be an allowance for a match played on a work day with 2 days notice.

because if sri lanka win, i want it as a historical document :p
generally if its a damn good / close game, i want to be able to watch it myself, rather than get 3 or 4 highlights on the next news bulletin. |

yea just got back
disappointment that we flogged them so much. only got to see 3 of our batters, lame. and this led to the crowd being bored and going stupid with the mexican wave. play was stopped for about 10 mins until it settled down. lots of people copped at least a light shower of beer. not cool |

was an awesome game. crowd were good too. mexican waves went around like 8 or 9 times in a row. (so much for no mexican waves allowed) and there were still plenty of beachballs.

was a top day for sure.
One can only wonder what security planners expect 25 thousand people do when "MEXICAN WAVES WILL NOT BE TOLERATED, GROUND STAFF AND POLICE WILL BE MONITORING THESE ACTIVITIES AND WILL EVICT THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR INSTIGATING THESE ACTS FROM THE GROUND' is repeatedly spammed on the replay screen. are you supposed to pay 40 bucks to watch Gilly and Katich go absolutely mental and leave your ass glued to the chair? Gilly was fkn pumped and so was the crowd. idiot security |

mexicans waves banned, are you serious??
For one, If u tell the people they cant do it, they are probably going to be more inclined to do it. Doesnt the mexican crowd usualy involve the whole crowd, what are they gonna do, fine everyone or kick everyone out? Instigaters, how the hell do you tell who started the mexican wave? Whats wrong with the mexican wave anyway ?? Silly Silly organisers. |

because people used the mexican waves as oppurtunities to throw stuff at fielders, which in the past has become pretty dangerous

It's f***ing disgracefull.
All that s*** being thrown onto the field. I know the wave isn't the problem, but if we cant stop f***tards from doing this s*** something drastic has to be done. I goto the cricket to watch the game, have a few drinks and have some fun. Fun. Fun does NOT include getting sconned in the back of the head by a half full water bottle, because some f***er thinks it might be funny to see it on the cricket field, but is too off his face to mekt the full distance. Fielders of either nation shouldn't have to put up with this s*** either. Thumbs DOWN Brisbane cricket supporters. Go back to your caves and beat your wives instead. |
