The ball looks like it bounced from a distance but I'm not entirely sure looking up close. Either way nice see aus bouncing back. Hopefully we'll get a game in bris :D

Well the thing that made it obvious to me was in one frame, the ball is seemingly touching the ground and then in the next frame it is in the upper part of his hand. Unless that is a magical physics defying cricket ball the only way it could have gotten up there is if it bounced of the ground.

Also you must be stupid to appeal for dodgy catches in televised matces, because you always going to be found out in the replay.

edit: on the upside though this has the makings of an epic match.

That was simply awesome. Highest score by an Australian team in an ODI and off to a bad start with the commentators going on and on about how Sri Lanka still had Murali up their sleeve.... how'd that work out for them!

actually as a cricketer myself, played state cricket you DONT always know. the catch was indifinitive, it was too close to call. he may have caught it but it wasnt given out so doesnt matter now.

Man i wish they would put hussey in earlier, 23 (8 balls) give him the opener position and try katich at 7.

That's right, sometimes it can be hard to tell but with a combo of looking at the replay and knowing if your fingers jammed under the ball, would tell you for sure. It may have bounced but he felt it got to him on the full or he may have got his fingers under it (it was very close).

Just got home

Tell ya what sux, having to wait 30+ mins to get into the f***ing ground! Got there just after 1:30pm (I know, I know should have gottent there earlier - but we couldn't) and didn't get seated until 2:30pm, was 'in the ground' for the gilly wicket...

but yeah when we were 3/10 I was fkn spewing and there was this entire bay of sri lankan's and they were going CRAZY, roy and punter then dominated - what a batting performance :D This shut the lankan's up

Gotta hand it to the lankan supporters they were still dancing and banging drums/tooting thir horns/trumpets even tho they lost - alot of pissed aussies certainly let them know it :p

Highlight of the day - the MASSIVE beer cup snakes, there was about 10 of them throughout the day, classic scene's :D

Ohh another highlight was some pomme wanker in his pomme jersey sitting there saying Australia are s***, he go DRENCHED in beer about 10 times - he kept coming back for more, he had some uber expensive camera (well it looked like a digi slr - for 50m away) and it got pwned as well, funny stuff

Getting outta the ground sucked too - but was a good day, considering they were free tix :D
