Okay, I can't find the answer to this anywhere.
Is the banning of spirits at the Gabba itself or is it only at Cricket games? |

I thought all spirits and heavies were banned during cricket.
Mainly because cricket goes longer and so people tend to get more s***faced. Not sure if it's in place yet tho. |

The problem with mexican waves is that everyone hurls rubbish in the air and, as everyone gets more bored/drunk, hurls rubbish on the field. This was the case at the opening one-dayer of the series anyway.

yer, and people hurl things with intent
coffee/vomit/beer etc its pretty sad dont get me wrong, i love nothing more than going to the cricket and getting anhialated, but for me fun, is doing fun things, not hurtful/dumb things (i certainly wouldnt be throwing any beer away, thats for sure) haha, the paper this morning also mentioned that people write obscene things on beach balls! haha; |

yer, and people hurl things with intent Yeh, my mate got sconned with a coke can :P Made a horrible sound but atleast it was empty :\ However, banning beach balls and mexican waves is just going to promote boredom and cause far worse s*** than is happening already. I spose one solution is making all ODI's 20/20 matches :D Also, yeh I'll be going to the final at the gabba... if my dad shouts heh |

The mexican wave has been banned for a while now. This is just one of those phases where they say they'll crack down on instigators (as they've said several times in the past). And yes, spirits are now banned because not selling full strength beer but selling spirits was a good way to make people drink less!

just get s***faced before you go, and then create double trouble You'd have to be pretty smashed to remain drunk though an entire ODI. I'd doubt the taxi driver would let you in. |

You'd be suprised. Everytime I go out I take 3 drinks with me for the 10min taxi ride. Always ask before if we are allowed to drink in the cab (if he allows us, not 'legal' allowed) and they are always sweet about it as long as you aint spitting drink in the back. Anyway you are correct, its hard to stay s***faced for that long. Id prefer to watch it on TV anyway. |
