Tough luck dude... You're pretty much up s*** creek:( I'd go the sticky tape until you can afford the cash to buy a new pair.

You could try OPSM, they fix glasses etc.

Jessie, go the sticky tape around the frames and do the whole nerd look.

having worn glasses for close on 15 years now, i learnt quickly to go to one glasses shop and one only. your loyalty over time will be rewarded handsomely.

e.g. i bought a $300 pair of nautica sunnies (add $150 for the special lenses). one day i sat on them and the frame could not be repaired so the lense just kept falling out no matter how much LAUBMAN AND PANK (this is a plug) tried to tweak them.

They gave me a brand new set of frames no charge. The thing is the spectacle business has so much profit loaded into their stock that they can afford to do this kind of stuff.

They tend to have to replace the entire arm when they come detatched, they can't just reattach them.

The last pair of glasses I had, the left arm broke, then the right arm, then the left arm, and by that time I gave up and got another pair. But, that was over a period of a few years.
It was costing me anything from $20 to $100 to get the arms repaired, and would often take six weeks where I had to walk around with my glasses stickied together. In the end I gave up, $700 poorer but wearing Ray-Bans with polycarbonate, coated, transition lenses. Ie, lenses wth every bloody option you can get on them :D
But yes, point I'm getting at, the effort to repair the arm sometimes just isn't worth it.

my optomatrist does them of real cheap, but they take close to a week. but i persoanly cant exacly go without glasses for a week. I'll just wait for the old lady to come back so i can get some new ones. might also get these repaired so i never have this problem again.

I can't believe how expensive glasses are...

Have to buy multi-focal ones for my wife - $600+ :O

Someone is making a killing on these things.

This is why private medical insurance is a good idea people. $80 for new glasses for me, and $10 to have new lenses put into existing frames. Awwww yeah.

If it moves and it's not meant to: Electrical Tape
If it doesn't move and it's meant to: WD40.

Now that you know everything you need to in life, go forth and repair the glasses while waiting for new ones :)

yer $400 for my new set of glasses... just got them last month. but... i still have all my old sets of glasses that i keep as spares in case the new set gets lost or broken. my glasses seldom break coz i get titanium frames & plastic lenses... they just get scratched or in the latest case the polychromatic treatment in the lens fails leaving the lenses discoloured & darker than they need to be.
still... polychromatic ftw! :D
