So you can hold a conversation with someone there and not have to shout?

Yes you can. It is also very easily accessible by bus, train, city cat and has ample parking out the back. Taxi fare to the city is around $10. Beer is less than $10/jug and they serve food there. Live music, pool tables, pokies, TAB, outdoor beergarden (a REAL beer garden) and f***ing HOT bar staff are also a bonus.

There are also 2 massive projectors for watching sports, as well as a plasma behind the bar. There are numerous eating locations, both BYO and lisenced, within less than 2 minutes walk from the front or back door.

My band played at the RE every friday night last month, and i gotta say, the place sucks.

Maybe without the noise restrictions it would be ok, but with them you might as well be listening to recorded music coming through the pa speakers.

They dont even let you use guitar amps, give me a break.

Any one elses there last month when the guy got bottled ?

Might be an ok place to go eat dinner, and then go out and see some actual loud live music where the band isnt constantly watching the stupid red light.

Sorry for the bands, but most people don't go there to listen to the music. The music is good, but it is there as background noise/music and atmosphere. If it was any louder then people couldn't hear each other, which is the reason they go - to socialise.

steele is right, i don't like s***ty cover bands etc at all, but i still like going to the place for occasions like this cause it's a great place so socialise with a decent size group of people
