Hey ladies,
Im investing in a set of blue/white lights for my hyundai coupe - ive had enough of the bastads with the cool blue lights and have decided to join the crowd. Apart from the obvious advantage of being brighter, would getting a 100watt set over a 50watt set lead to any issues with heat/alternator strain etc? In my view getting 100watt globes is just brighter, does it matter or can i use as many watts as i want for the new globe ? Cheers |

yeah aparently all non yellow globes will prevent your car from passing a police roadside roadworthy. The guys at supercheap were telling me the story how everyone who has them gets in trouble by the police and has to change them back to get their car back to standard, then they just go back to the blue globes after the police check that you have fixed the problems.
Ive always been amazed at the light output of them, it seems to show a lot more road and footpath than the traditional yellow globes |

I had blue lights in my car, cops never cared, cops stopped my friend because his fog lights were "dazzling", they never mentioned his blue headlights either. 100 watt globes in a car not meant for them MAY stress the wiring and overheat your reflector if its made of plastic it could melt.
edit: at least that's what it said in some book/manual/bulb packet I read once. Probably bs last edited by whoop at 00:42:10 12/Dec/05 |

If your factory globes are 55w high beam, and you want to put 110w ones in, you will need a relay hooked up to your lights to get them to operate at peak efficiency and without burning out wiring.

I'm with Joanna - I, too, can't stand those blue headlights. They look great, sure, but they annoy the hell out of me (they're too distracting).

as for the headlight covers
bit of brasso or plastic polish will do the job. basically it buffs away the worn layer and makes it crystal clear. common problem with soarers, about 5 minutes of elbow grease and its back to uber! |

both.
yellowing is more to do with the plastic ageing and water condensing and ruining the surface. |

HID is an abbreviation of High Intensity Discharge, which radiates light by putting high voltage on xenon gas infused in the bulbs. fixed. I saw a honda with those things, it was behind me going in the same direction and I couldn't stand the f***ing dazzling light. I've almost been blinded by those things while driving at night, imho they are TOO bright. Then again I'm pretty sensitive to light, I can see ok in low light conditions with no lights on (be it indoors or on the road). last edited by whoop at 20:31:43 12/Dec/05 |
