Well, shooting accurately is hard unless you've trained on murder simulators like GTA

yeah i know its hard to fire a gun, but to miss a cow? twice? at close range? its like trying to poke a fat kid with a stick. its not exactly hard to miss.

What ravnos said. but i say at least a week or more. And yeah it was just a pure freak accident, and there should be no reprecussions for the guy.

He makes responsible shooters look bad. Lucky he didnt kill her. Even a .22 can kill at crazy distances.

Fundamentals:

Do not fire at movement
Do not fire at colour
Do not fire at shape
Do not fire at sound

CHECK YOUR f***ING FIRING ZONE.

Even people who haven't used firearms would understand that.

You might want to check your sources on that. The reports have been it was approx. 30 meters, but hey...it also depends on your interpretation of "point blank"

Yes, idiots should be able to discharge firearms no matter what the consequences.

Play CoD for about 5 minutes and you should understand how to use iron sights.
other than that there is a hell of alot of information on proper firing technique available in both book form and on the net.

Rolo knows the score, check for anything behind the target, check target and aim carefully.

still though ... it was highly unlikely he would hit a passerby, but to miss a cow TWICE at "short" range is pretty bad.

Hitting a cow from ~20 meters wouldnt be hard... you could probably just point in that direction without even looking through the sights and hit the damn thing.

However if you are trying to kill it quickly and humanely that isn't really going to work.

Trying to hit the top part of a moving cows head at ~20m is probably quite difficult, infact it doesn't suprise me he missed more than once.

The main problem with the scenario isn't the fact he missed twice, it is the question of why the direction he was shooting in was facing a road or area other people could be in.

why shoot it from 20 mtrs at all?

theres no spatter or spray or anything.

I've seen it bungled before by half-wits.

I don't know... overall it does sound pretty lazy and retarded on the shooters behalf.

I read the article in the paper and it said something about the cow being nuts and if you went near it it'd get all jumpy and thrash around. In the article the guy also said something along the lines of "I probably should have restrained it before shooting it" :/
