I loved the chronicles of Narnia. I'm a little worried about how they will butcher it.

Some of that looks really good, but the butchering will come in the form of over-production and stupid one-liners, instead of just telling the story.

Yep, you're most likely right there dais. And we'll have to wait for the extended edition before seeing a decent movie, no doubt.

been waiting for this for over a year :P
just finished reading all the books to the kids, all preped and ready for it to come out now :P

i just hope its good

and they didnt do book one: the magicians nephew, and at the start of the book it says this is a very important story, it explains all the comings and goings between narnia and our world.. or somethign along those lines

just like lotr should've started with the hobbit

ahh well

Yeah fallenmessiah knows the score. The Magician's Nephew tells the story of how the world of Narnia and the Wardrobe were created. If you don't read the Magician's Nephew, some stuff in the later books doesn't make sense. Like why some animals can talk and why some can't, where the white witch came from and why there's a street light in the middle of a forest. Oh well.

and the magician's nephew was a cooler story all round anyway

why people are obsessed with the worst book of the series i don't know.

(the above opinion is mine from 11 years ago, haven't got a clue what i'd think now, can hardly remember reading them)

The story rocks, hollywood sucks...

I just hope the movie lets the story survive.

Wasn't Magician's Nephew written after Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe though?

I've never read the books but it looks like it will be a pretty interesting movie in a harry potter'esque type of way.

Yeah, it looks like one of those movies you'd watch just to see specific scenes realised in cinema, such as the big wolves who work for the witch and the stone table bit.

Yeah, I can barely remember any of the stories, been far too long since I read the books. I'm half tempted to go find them and read them again but they'd probably suck now, they were kids books after all.

Also, Liam Neeson as Aslan ftw.
