Just saw here at Dark Horizons that Vin Diesel will supposedly be playing the main character from the game to movie conversion of Hitman.

Fox has tapped Skip Woods ("Swordfish", "Thursday") to adapt its feature version of vidgame "Hitman," with Vin Diesel toplining reports Variety.

Studio picked up the Eidos vidgame franchise in June from producers Chuck Gordon and Adrian Askarieh. Diesel will exec produce. First three games in the "Hitman" franchise have sold more than 5 million units.

The story centers on an international assassin, known as Agent 47, who works for a mysterious org dubbed the Agency.

Sounds like a logical choice to me, with the whole bald headed tough guy thing.

Doesn't sound like a logical choice to me, what with Vin Diesel looking like he's just been hit with a 2x4 constantly... doesn't really make for the 'plotting killer' look IMO.
That, and Vin Diesel: a) is a terrible actor. b) Has the most annoying voice known to mankinda c) groupies who will no dowbt see the movie because they think he's hot and hence ruin whatever was left content wise in the game>movie translation.

I think Jason Statham would be a much better actor for the job.

Yeah as much as I hated both transporter movies, I think Statham would have been the perfect choice for Hitman.

Vin Diesel is a terrible choice.

And yeah, as much as I like Vin Diesel, and think hes a cool action movie guy, hes not Hitman. Jason Statham for the win. Vin Diesel needs to stick to playing beefy savages with hardcore one liners, like Riddick, thats his strength.

Im going to avoid the bandwagon here and say that I dont mind Vin Diesel being first choice. Perhaps stratham would be better... but who's to say it won't still be a decent movie.

yeh Jason Statham would make a good agent 47, just watching the transporter movies a while ago i was thinking to myself that he would make a good hitman if they ever made the movie. vin diesel is just too bulky. Agent 47 is tall and skinny damn it.
